saving the world's most endangered antelope
Promotes the conservation of the hirola antelope and its fragile habitat in partnership with communities in eastern Kenya.
Ali Hassan Ali is a Malakote from Bura sub-county. He is a teacher by profession. He retired from teaching a few years ago and is now helping with our conservation efforts in Bura. Before joining the project early this year, he had initially worked for Arawale hirola community conservancy since 2004 and with the Kenya wildlife service in Bura. Over time he has worked in numerous research projects and surveys conducted in the area as a research assistant. He is an excellent ranger and still continues to liaise with KWS to report human wildlife incidents in the area. Apart from being a ranger he also helps the hirola conservation project in data collection.
