Animal rescue, caregiving and re-wildling program

There have been increased instances of wildlife needing rescue, treatment and rehabilitation as a result of various circumstances that include injuries, diseases, drought, and floods. We established the Animal Rescue, Caregiving and Re-wildling Program to provide the necessary care that the abandoned, orphaned and injured wildlife in northeastern Kenya might need. Through this program, we have been able to rescue and treat giraffes, gerenuks, Ostrich, aardvark, and cheetahs.

These rescued animals were hosted at the Garissa Game Sanctuary a local wildlife rescue center in Garissa under hcp and the North Eastern Conservancies Association. At the rescue center, the animals are given all the necessary care and veterinary services and once fully recovered or grown they are released back to the wildlife in consultation with local community conservancies where they were found and KWS.
